The Objective
The initial idea was to capture how the city copes with a 37°C heatwave, simply to build local reach for my personal account.
However, during the shoot, I suggested to a cafe owner I know that we include her establishment in the video.
Within the narrative, the cafe naturally becomes a sanctuary where people escape the heat; its name and menu appear on screen.
The Shoot
Filming the entire urban reportage took about 3 to 4 hours, with the segment inside the cafe taking only 45 minutes.
The cafe remained fully operational during this time. I deliberately used minimal, lightweight equipment to ensure no disruption to the customers or the staff.
The Result
After it was published, the video achieved the following metrics:
- 28,410 Views (Massive local visibility).
- 98.5% French audience on Facebook (We reached a French audience rather than viewers scattered abroad).
- 2,748 Interactions (Likes, shares, comments — proving strong emotional engagement from the audience).
- The Impact: The menu board and the cafe's atmosphere were seen by thousands of viewers, associating the establishment with a place of cool, aesthetic comfort, in the natural tone of the reportage.
Today, consumers tune out traditional HoReCa ads on social media, but they gladly watch aesthetic content about their own city. By creating and posting this kind of video on your business accounts, you give your venue genuine visibility.
